LAHORE: Punjab Meals Authority has formulated legislation for imported merchandise by taking Federal Bureau of Income (FBR) on board. This initiative is taken after confiscating expired imported merchandise from a number of famend shops.

In line with new legislation, PFA has imposed ban to sale the imported product with lower than half expiry life after clearance process.

PFA Spokesman mentioned that PFA has rolled up the sleeves to make sure availability of high quality imported merchandise at shops. He mentioned that PFA has served warning notices to a number of shops, indulged in promoting expired imported merchandise.

As per formulated legal guidelines, import license of violating corporations will likely be cancelled in case of failing comply legal guidelines. The necessity of devising this legislation emerged when the expired imported merchandise have been recovered by PFA in huge amount.
